I’m Heather Hill.
I’m the proud Momma of three kids moving on with life after the tragedy of losing my husband on December 5, 2014.
I’m also a funeral director.
I had just started my apprenticeship as a funeral director two months before he died. My husband was a pilot for JetBlue airways. A job he was proud to have in an industry he loved. We met while we worked for a fractional jet company called Flight Options. I was his flight attendant 🙂  Our crews flew a schedule of 8 days on and 7 days off and we became best friends before we started dating. We were truly in love. My husband didn’t let parenthood get in the way of our relationship. We remained best friends throughout our journey.
On December 6th 2014 I received the call that my husband didn’t show up for his red-eye flight and he proceeded to tell me he had passed away. More on this here.
His body was shipped back to Raleigh, NC and we honored him with a beautiful funeral surrounded by friends and family.
I returned to work before Christmas that month. While that may seem quick, I needed some sort of distraction, then the funeral home provided that for me.
I hope my words help you heal, grow and learn more about my journey.
I currently live in Raleigh, NC and work at Renaissance Funeral Home in Raleigh.
